OBJECTIVE 3 Students will identify that density is a fundamental property of matter. Changes in pressure and temperature can change the density of a material.

OBJECTIVE 7 Students will identify changes of state that occur during both heating and cooling.

OBJECTIVE 8 Students will identify the fundamental difference between temperature and heat.

OBJECTIVE 9 Students will calculate heat changes involved in the heating and cooling of water, as a solid, liquid or gas.

OBJECTIVE 10 Students will identify that materials have unique specific heat values. The lower the specific heat value the faster the material will heat-up and cool down!

OBJECTIVE 11 Students will identify that in a chemical reaction, matter and energy is neither created or destroyed. It just changes!

OBJECTIVE 12 Students will identify that the potential energy being stored or released during a phase change occurs because bonds are being either broken (during heating) or formed (during cooling). This heat is called latent heat.
