Recommendations by WSCC Component Nutrition Environment and Services – Make healthy food choices the status quo throughout the district (policy, process and practices), maximize impact of school garden, lead by example Health Services – Incorporate universal mental health screenings in well-child checkups, make sure students with identified needs are getting follow up care Counseling, Psychological and Social Services – Foster resiliency/coping skills among all students, identify those with greatest needs (mental health/substance abuse) for individual and group supports, start young (ES) Social and Emotional Climate – Help students build connections with adults, create effective systems of support (MTSS), engage students in building meaningful learning pathways
