These components are open source and available for commercial use and distribution. Jetty is used in a wide variety of projects and products. Jetty can be embedded in devices, tools, frameworks, application servers, and clusters.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 7 Tool Usability As jetty is a runtime component there is little in the way of strict tool usability to concern ourselves with past working with a reasonable update site using as generic a target platform possible. We have continued to maintain and increase PDE support as a layer on top of the jetty-osgi module.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 8 End-of-Life We have no End-of-Life issues at this time.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 9 Bugzilla Bugzilla is our primary issue tracking system for jetty7 and we continue to follow previously established triage procedures which enable us to be more reactive to any issues within the community.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 10 Standards Jetty7 is based on the servlet-api 2.5 which we distribute with jetty on the update site, which we retrieved from the ORBit dependencies system JSP2.1 support is provided through glassfish bundles which we have added into ORBit and approved through the CQ process.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 11 UI Usability We have an option to launch jetty through the osgi runtime with the appropriate PDE extensions. We have a user contributed Jetty WTP plugin that is available for usage now that supports jetty 7 and jetty 8. This feature is not going into the Indigo release.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 12 Schedule We release on our schedule as needed for distributing bug fixes or as needed by the community.

Copyright © 2008 Eclipse Foundation, Inc., Made available under the Eclipse Public License v 1.0 13 Communities Jetty has a healthy user community at large and the majority of feedback regarding the project migration to eclipse has been positive The user community continues to make use of our mailing lists. Balancing the Jetty project across multiple repositories is easier with git http://cia.vc/stats/project/jetty shows aggregation of all jetty git repositories
