One of the strategic plans of the University is the participation in international programs in order to adapt the study programs to those of the EU countries.

4. FACULTY OF EDUCATION MATEJ BEL UNIVERSITY Národná 12 974 01 Banská Bystrica Slovak Republic Europe The Faculty was established on 1 September 1964. The new history of the Faculty started in July 1992, when it became a part of Matej Bel University. The mission of the Faculty is represented by the main goal of educating the new workers in the helping professions oriented to work with people, mainly pedagogic and social fields, and developing their scientific knowledge. The most important condition for studying at the Faculty is passing the school leaving and entrance exams. Entrance exams are usually in writing. In the selected teacher specializations talent or practical entrance exams need to be taken. „ Education for new generation“

5. FACULTY OF ECONOMIST MATEJ BEL UNIVERSITY Národná 12 974 01 Banská Bystrica Slovak Republic Europe Faculty of Economics has become an important part of Matej Bel University. The Faculty is also entitled to organize a doctoral study and to award the academics with the title of „philosophiae doctor“ - PhD. in the fields of study of Tourism and Public Economy and Services. In 1999 the Faculty adopted the quality management system according to the EN ISO 9000 as the first university institution in Slovakia and the thirty sixth one in the world. Innovative approach of the Faculty Management to the quality management means the improvement in the ways of Faculty management. Standard conditions for education services provision required at the European Union level are thus created. FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES MATEJ BEL UNIVERSITY Národná 12 974 01 Banská Bystrica Slovak Republic Europe The Faculty offers university education in all basic natural sciences such as physics, mathematics, biology, ecology, chemistry, informatics and technology and teacher training study programmes. FACULTY OF POLITICAL SCIENCES ANDINTERNATIONAL RELATIONS MATEJ BEL UNIVERSITY Národná 12 974 01 Banská Bystrica Slovak Republic Europe The Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations (in Slovak commonly abbreviated as FPVaMV) was founded in 1995 as a result of the need to establish so far untraditional fields of study in Slovakia – Political Science, International Relations and Diplomacy. After 1989 and the following adoption of the democratic political system and later entering the international scene as an independent subject of international relations, Slovakia has needed experts with university education for state administration authorities, public administration and self-governments, as well as the international cooperation and foreign service. „Faculty of future politicians and diplomats“

9. FACULTY OF LAW MATEJ BEL UNIVERSITY Národná 12 974 01 Banská Bystrica Slovak Republic Europe The Faculty was established on 11 May 1995. In accordance with the Memorandum of the Slovak Government of 1996, the Faculty is oriented to international law, European law and training of experts in the field of approximation of the legal system of the Slovak Republic to the legal standards of the European law.
