Is Nuclear Power a sustainable technology in Brazil?

FuelCan produce around 1 kg of wood2 kWh 1 kg of coal3 kWh 1 kg of oil4 kWh 1 m³ of natural gas6 kWh 1 kg of uranium60.000 kWh

Countries with bigger uranium reserves

Advantages -Does not produce smoke or carbon dioxide, so it does not contribute to the greenhouse effect; - Does not produce gases that contribute to acid rain (sulphur and nitrogen oxides); -Produces huge amounts of energy from small amounts of fuel. - It is a form of cheap energy, as it requires a small area for its construction. - Produces small amounts of waste.

Disadvantages -Nuclear power is reliable but if something goes wrong, a nuclear accident can be a major disaster. - Nuclear power plants as well as nuclear waste could be preferred targets for terrorist attacks. - Although not much waste is produced, it is very dangerous. It must be sealed up and buried for many years to allow the radioactivity to die away.
