INSIDE THE GOODS – for both products, find info on the following: 1. What kind of facility is required to produce the product? 2. Where will the products’ raw materials, if needed, come from? 3. Is the item produced directly by the companies that sell it, or is it outsourced to factories that are not owned by the company? 4. In what countries do companies generally produce these goods? 5. Which product do you want to use?

Project Part 1 Background Information Approximately how many employees does the company have? What is the name of the company, and where is it located? Does it have factories all over the world or in just a couple of places? How big is the company? What are its yearly profits? Is there a wide audience for its products, or does it cater to a specialized market? Mission Statement What’s your company’s mission? Does it include any information about corporate citizenship or social responsibility? Products What products does the company make? What kinds of materials and processes are used to make the products? Who buys the products? What image do your products have? What kind of marketing does the company do?

Mission statements: Effective mission statements include components such as values, vision, and purpose. A mission statement should be concise and compelling, and it should tell people what your company does, what your goals are, and who your consumers are. Use language that reflects your image of the company. Think about how you want your company to be seen in the world—are you a leader in new technologies, or a tried-and-true standard? Are you most concerned with growth? Is CSR an important part of who you are?
7
Sample Mission Statements Profitable growth through superior customer service, innovation, quality and commitment.
