7. Learning Goals  Each course of study we will have a learning goal or an expected outcome for the end of that unit  Students will know what the learning goal is and how what we do is supporting that goal

9. Grading Social Studies:  Formative assessments 15%  Summative assessments 75%  Executive functions 10%  The STEAM ACADEMY is using standards based grading with a 4 point scale.  A final will be given at the end of each semester. It is 10% of semester grade.

10. Technology  The Willis Gifted Academy is committed to creating 21 st century learners. We will use a variety of technology in class and outside of class.

11. Integration of Technology  With the integration of technology, advanced critical thinking skills as well as internet etiquette are being taught.  Students are also learning how to evaluate and synthesize information.

15. 4 th period – Academic Perseverance  This class will be used as a problem based learning time to enrich our program at the STEAM Academy.  So far we have created:  3D Name Art  A board game design
