3  İki cümle arasındaki sebep-sonuç ilişkisini anlatırken so … that veya such … that kalıbını kullanırız.  Bu kalıplardan sonra gelen cümle sonuç bildirir.  so ve such niteledikleri kelimenin anlamı güçlendirirler.  Cümleye kattıkları anlam “o kadar … ki”, “öyle … ki” dir.
