Mixed Factoring
2
Steps to mixed factoring To factor a polynomial completely, you may need to use more than one factoring method. Use the steps on the next slide to factor a polynomial completely.

Factoring Mixed Polynomials 1. Check for a GCF. 2. If a binomial check for two perfect squares or two perfect cubes. 3. If there are four terms factor by grouping 4. If it is a trinomial with a coefficient of 1, factor by guess and check. 5. If it is a trinomial with a leading coefficient other than 1, multiply AxC, and split the middle term with the factors of AxC. Then factor by grouping.
