3 Current situation decline of statutory youth work increase of Christian youth work and youth ministry move of “youth work” to Cabinet Office from Education Department, seen by many as a retrograde step secularisation of society austerity among churches and Christian agencies has seen a decline in employed youth work staff Aims affirm, encourage and equip the Christian sector in its work with young people provide an opportunity to debate and discuss key issues in youth work, youth policy and youth ministry be an inclusive network for leaders in Christian youth work/youth ministry agencies, training providers and denominational youth departments represent the Christian youth work constituency on various national and UK bodies and at key events, disseminate information, consult widely to agree common ground, and advocate on behalf of the sector

4 Aims affirm, encourage and equip the Christian sector in its work with young people provide an opportunity to debate and discuss key issues in youth work, youth policy and youth ministry be an inclusive network for leaders in Christian youth work/youth ministry agencies, training providers and denominational youth departments represent the Christian youth work constituency on various national and UK bodies and at key events, disseminate information, consult widely to agree common ground, and advocate on behalf of the sector Activity annual conference national occupational standards for youth work (UK- wide) representing the Christian youth work constituency on Institute for Youth Work discussions (England) planning a UK launch in Westminster alongside the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Youth Affairs representing Christian youth work on JNC, TAG, ETS linking with CETYN (Wales), Scotland and Ireland
