Business Practice Decisions Position Codes All 01s and 02s will be assigned the Direct Primary role, Co-Leaders. This will give access to the Volunteer Toolkit. Troop Numbers Troop numbers for new troops will be 4 digits in length Region 1 – 1,000 series Region 2 – 2,000 series Region 3 – 3, 000 series Region 4 – 4,000 series Region 5 – 5,000 series

Business Practice Decisions Volunteer Toolkit – Multi Grade Level Troop Access GSESC is working on a way to allow multi grade level Troops access. Multi Grade Level Troops will have the option of being given multiple 5 digit Troop numbers which will be for internal use only. *Troops will still have one bank account *Troops will still only have to turn in one end of the year financial report *Troops will not need to buy new numbers for sash or vest

Business Practice Decisions Background Checks For All Adult Members All adults, whether they are Volunteers or Adult Members, must submit to a Level 2 Background Check. A Level 2 Background Check costs $4.97 and is good for 3 years. Verified Volunteers is GSESC’s background check vendor. Once the Adult pays their registration fee they will receive the email from Verified Volunteers they will be instructed on how to proceed with their Background Check.

Business Practice Decisions Girl Scout Membership for Adults at Overnights and Events All Adults must be registered members of Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina when participating in the following: *Adults participating ( in any capacity) on an overnight with girls (GSESC, SU, Troop level) *Adults chaperoning a trip (GSESC, SU, Troop level) *Adults helping at a Troop meeting (on a regular basis, staying at the meeting for the majority of time) *Adults chaperoning/supervising Cookie Booths *Adults attending GSESC sponsored events at Sandy Ridge (except Fall Festival day event on Sept. 24, 2016 and Camp Open House on May 27, 2017)

Business Practice Decisions Troop Trip Approval Forms We have streamlined the process. Troop Trip Approval Forms are now only required for the following types of trips… *Trips requiring a rental vehicle/charter bus *Trips requiring extra insurance (Trips over 2 days in length) *International Trips

Dates To Remember… August 3-4, 2016: GSESC Closed – All Staff Work Session August 12, 2016 – Early Bird Deadline September 30, 2016 – Deadline for Service Units to earn their $250 Service Unit On- Time Incentive

One More Thing To Remember… Volunteer Systems is going to make a lot of things better but unfortunately, like with most things, it will not happen overnight. There is going to be a lot of CHANGE occurring for the next 6-8 months. We will get through it together!!!
