Assessments & Training Same process for requesting an assessment. Bridging training and assessment Using game video
4
Assessments & Training 1.The NHSOA assessment program will now include video of the game/officials being assessed. It will likely not be the complete game, but the entire videoed portion will be delivered to the official via a private YouTube link. Assessors may edit the video by clipping portions to support the written assessment and include them via a private YouTube link along with the usual written assessment. 2.The assessed official may use the game video for purposes of education, training and improvement. There is no formal ‘training and education’ program at this time, however, officials may seek assistance from NHSOA board members until there is a program in place. 3.To assist putting a program in place, the NHSOA hopes to use the game videos to create training clips that can be used for group and individual training. This will NOT happen this season. 4.This is a first attempt to augment the assessment process and to provide a bridge between assessment and training. There are sure to be many changes as we continue to develop this process. Members are welcome to submit written ideas and suggestions for improvement to any board member.
