Stroke Caused when blood flow to the brain is cut off There is a blockage in the arteries. That part of the brain suffocates and dies. –Blockages can be caused by blood clots from other parts of the body or slow damage to the arteries over time. (Arteries bring blood away from the heart to organs).

Variations Bleeding into the brain :20 % of strokes –Caused by a broken blood vessel or –Bulging aneurysm Mini strokes or TIAS (transient ischemic attacks) - Show signals of stroke but completely go away.
