2. 2 Multi-Byte Language Support Enables institutions to run multiple languages on the same system. To support cross-border education as well as foreign language courses, instructors can set the language of the course independently from the language setting of the overall system. The full Blackboard Academic Suite now supports multi-byte character sets including Japanese and Chinese.

3. 3 Language Pack Editor Enables institutions to add new Language Packs or modify existing Language Packs for their Bb Academic Suite implementations.

What is a Language Pack? –A downloadable file package that contains all the text, graphics, and code to support a given language to display within the User Interface including locale preferences. What is the Language Pack Editor? –A tool allowing clients with an Enterprise license to modify any of the existing language packs (including English) or to create a new language pack. What is the Language Pack catalog? –An online catalog where the Bb community can exchange language packs that were created using the language pack editor.
