2. LOCATION Cercs is a village in the district of Berguedà in Catalonia. There are 1.334 habitants. In Cercs there are some different villages: Sant Jordi, Cercs, La Rodonella, Sant Corneli, Sant Josep and Sant Quirze de Pedret.

3. MUNICIPALITY OF OLD FACTORIES AND MINES OF CERCS The mines of Sant Corneli, which were created in the late XIX. There was a terrible accident that was caused by a gas leak followed by a big explosion. About 32 workers died. In the old town of Sant Salvador a very important textile factory was built in those days.

4. THE MONUMENTS The church of Sant Quirze de Pedret: is situated at the end of Cercs.

5. Museum of the mines of Cercs: is the Mining Museum Cercs is part of the system of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia

6. FESTIVITIES AND TRADITIONS OF THE CERCS The municipality of Cercs has a lot of many traditions and festivities.

7. FAMOUS PEOPLE Flora Saura is a TV presenter. She has presented some important TV programs ok Tv3 (the Catalan TV) and some program of radio. She was born in Cercs on 20 of March of 1975.

8. SPECIAL FOOD The most special food in Cercs are the screws (typical of Sant Jordi for the major festival “El Rosaret”).

9. PERSONAL OPINION We live in Sant Jordi and this is we favourite village on Cercs because has got a school, a swimming pool, a football field… and because is a beautiful place.
