1. Allah is Goodness and there is Goodness in Traveling

Imam Bukhari relates that the Prophet encouraged (not obligated) the following: ● Whenever the Prophet traveled, he would set out at the start of the day ● Also he preferred to leave on a Thursday ● Also he asked Allah to bless his people in their early departures ● Also he said it best for travelers to travel in groups of Three and to appoint a leader ● He forbade a man from traveling alone unless he had not choice ● Malik, Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi relates that the Prophet said: ● “The single rider is a devil, two riders are devils and three are riders. ● “The single rider is a devil, two riders are devils and three are riders."

Whenever the Prophet (sa) would leave out for a journey he would do the following: He would recite “bismillah” before mounting his beast Then he would say: "AI-Hamdu Lillahil-Ladhee Sakhkhara Lana Hadha Wa Ma Kunna Lahu Muqrineena, Wa Inna Ila Rabbina Lamunqaliban" "All praise and thanks be to Allah, Who has subjected this to us when we could never have it by our own efforts and verily, to our Lord we shall return." Then he would say: "Al-Hamdu Lalah, Al-Hamdu Zillah, Al- Hamdu Lillah", Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar "Subhanaka Innee Zalamtu Nafsee Faghfir Lee Innahu La Yaghfir- udh-Dhunaba Ilia Anta" "Glory be to You, Verily I have wronged myself, so forgive me, truly, there is none can forgive sins except You. ”

4. When traveling he used to shorten the 4 rakaat prayers down to 2 rakaats ● Umayyah Ibn Khalid said: ● "We find mention in the Qur'an of the prayer of the resident and the fear prayer, but we find in it no mention of the traveler's prayer." ● Ibn 'Umar said: ● "Oh, my brother! Verily, Allah sent Muhammad and we knew nothing; so we only do what we saw Muhammad, doing." ● It was a part of the guidance of the Prophet to restrict himself to the obligatory prayers (when traveling) and it has not been recorded that he offered Sunnah prayers before or after them, except for the sunnans of Fajr and the Witr

5. Even though the prophet himself did not do the sunnah prayers when traveling he did not forbid others from it – Again difference between sunnah and obligation ● To show it is not haram to do so, it has been confirmed that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, The Prophet offered a Duha prayer of eight Rak'ahs. - Muslim ● It was also a part of his guidance to offer the voluntary prayers while sitting on his riding beast, no matter which direction it took him toand he used to indicate his Bowing (by inclining his head). ● Also he would sometimes delay the Dhur prayer and pray it with Asr while traveling. And sometimes delay the Maghrib prayer and pray it with Isha ● He did not combine the prayers while riding his beast
