Unprecedented deals Case of Frigoken Ltd in Upper Tana & the Water Fund (2014-2017) Invested in a partnership project worth USD 800,000. Company contributes 88% of funds Company has 70,000 small holder farmers contracted to grow horticultural produce. Main challenge is heavy river water abstraction during dry season leading to drying up Aims to support 15,000 small holder farmers get own water storage facilities Year round supply of horticultural produce Project promotes rainwater harvesting, healthier rivers, more hydropower and stabilizes production Improves farmer yields, income and well being Steep farm lands Land conversion: tea to annual crops
