Sending test scores Official scores must be sent directly to colleges from testing websites by the student. School counselors cannot send the scores nor are they placed on the transcript. Students may choose to send scores to four colleges at no additional cost when registering for test. There is a cost to send the scores to colleges after the test has been taken.
7
Cost of sending scores SAT Scores are $11.25 per test date to send. ACT Scores are $12.00 per test date to send.
8
WHICH SCORES TO SEND The vast majority of colleges/universities have gone to the “super scoring” method of dealing with multiple test scores. This means they will take the highest sub- score from each test to make the highest composite score possible. Check the college/university webpage to find out how they scores standardized tests.
9
Two-Year College Applicants SAT/ACT are not needed for community college admissions! Most students sit for the AccuPlacer test for PLACEMENT purposes only. This is taken at any local community college. If a student has an SAT or ACT score, this could assist with Scholarship eligibility.
10
CABARRUS COUNTY All Juniors are given the ACT free of cost here in Cabarrus County. Therefore all seniors have at least one standardize test score (the ACT).
11
WHEN TO SEND Do not hold up your application process waiting to sit for or receive test scores! On the application it will ask for dates of all tests taken. If there is a future test to sit for simply put that test date on the application so they know more information is coming.
12
Fee Waivers Families who qualify for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program may qualify to use fee waivers. Students may use two fee waivers for the SAT/ACT testing. Once one test has been taken with a waiver, students then may use 3 college application fee waivers.
13
Please see Miss Takach in the School Counseling Office to obtain a form for the Fee Waiver Program.
