1 Bell Ringer O Find your seat. O Fold the paper in half “hot dog” O Write your first and last name O Display your name towards the front of the room on your desk O Write one thing that you enjoy doing in your free time on the inside of your foldable.

2 Bell Ringer O Return to the same seat you sat in yesterday O Take out your NAME table tent and display it facing the front of the room O Today you will need a pencil, all other materials can be placed under your seat O If you classroom supplies, borrow a Sharpie marker, write your name on the supplies and place them on your period’s lab table

O What do you want to be when you grow up? O When was your most exciting memory? O Where is the best place you have ever been? O Why do you think Science is important?

9 3. No food, drinks, or gum allowed in class. Do’s Don’ts O Get a drink before class O Eat breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria O Chew gum O Skip meals O Bring snacks O Bring uneaten food from cafeteria

You will sign step 3 of the Discipline Ladder O Detention O Opportunity table O “Time Out” to another classroom O Referral to Administration, serve Wednesday afterschool detention and sign step 4 of the Discipline Ladder O Referral to Administration, serve School Plus, and sign step 5 of the Discipline Ladder

14 Procedure: Bell Ringers O Question on the screen or white board at the beginning of each class period O Written in bell ringer note book every day O Does count for a GRADE O Write the whole question and your response with a COMPLETE sentence O Start within 1 minute of the tardy bell O Consequences will be given if not started on time

15 Procedure: Moving around the room O When you need to: O Sharpen a pencil O Throw something away O Get a tissue or hand sanitizer O Get materials – ESPECIALLY during lab O Must raise hand and get teacher’s permission before getting out of your seat O Usually only one person will be up at a time O Do not interrupt others as you move around the room

16 Procedure: Turning in class work and homework O Work should ALWAYS have: O Your Name O Class period O Work is placed in the period designated “IN” tray at the front of the room O Graded work to be returned will be placed in the “OUT” tray O Work needs to be turned in when called for O DO NOT get up in the middle of class to turn in work, unless you have permission

17 Procedure: Bathroom/drink passes O Passes will be VERY LIMITED O Ask teacher for permission before taking a pass O Sign out on the sheet with Name, destination, and time O Take the hall pass with you O Sign in when you return with the time O If hall passes are abused they will be denied

18 Procedure: Call to order O When I need the class’s full attention I will either: O Hold my hand up and ask for you to “give me five”. Students should respond by holding their hand up and stop the talking. O Give a “5-4-3-2-1” count down asking for all conversation to end and return to seats by the time I reach “1”

19 Procedure: Partner/Group work O Groups will be assigned by the teacher O I will change groups throughout the school year O Conversation should ALWAYS be academic O Help your group members, but do not do the work for them

20 Procedure: Common Board Configuration (CBC) O Written daily on the board in EVERY class room O Contains information regarding the Units’ goals, daily objectives, what you will be doing in class that day, and assigned homework O Read the CBC every day, write the homework assignment AND due date in your agenda
