7 Åndalsnes cruise port The Romsdalsfjord The Romsdalsfjord The ports of Molde (25.000) and Åndalsnes (7.300) are situated by the Romsdalsfjord, and have been visited by cruiseships since 1882. Åndalsnes has a unique setting beside the Romsdal Alps, and is the starting point for the wild and beautiful Rauma Line. The Troll Wall and the world famous Trollstigen, are just minutes away. Molde, the town of roses, faces the fjord and is famous for its panoramic view of 222 mountain peaks. Molde has an annual International Jazz Festival in week 29. The town is the nearest to the Atlantic Road, - labelled the world`s best road trip. Cruiseships dock right in the town centres, perfect for independent exploration. The ships stay at both harbours for a combined fee, allowing for excursions to several of Norway`s most popular sights in one day. Sail to Molde in the morning, make fullday excursions to Trollstigen, and half day excursions to the Atlantic Road/Town/ Håholmen etc. Cross the fjord to Åndalsnes in the afternoon to pick up passengers from the Trollstigen fullday tour, - and offer some further exciting excursions to Trollstigen / Rauma Line etc. We offer excellent excursions in both harbours, and the future National Tourist Roads: Atlantic Road and Trollstigen are within 45 min. drive. 8 Rødven, one of Norway’s oldest stave churches from Åndalsnes goes along the north side of the Romsdalsfjord where there is a superb view of the Romsdal Alps.We pass idyllic hamlets and the lake Gjersetvatnet, to the village Rødven by the Rødvenfjord. The old stave church is beautifully situated by the fjord. The building itself was erected in 1050 ad., which makes it one of the oldest and best preserved churches in Norway. It is still used for special services, weddings and christenings. Inside the church one finds many exhibits, amongst them a crucifix dating back to 1250.Time: 3 hours

9 Walking in Vengedalen Driving along the Romsdal fjord to the village Isfjorden and up to the Vengedalen Valley. Marvellous scenery. The path up to Litlefjellet mountain goes steeply uphill (approx. 30 minutes), but the view from the top is amongst the finest in our district!. At the top (780 m. a.s.l.) there is an amazing view towards Trolltindene peaks and Trollveggen (Troll Wall), as well as providing the best view down the Romsdalen Valley towards Åndalsnes. The Rauma River snakes its way down the valley. Also you can see Vengedalen Valley, Vengedalsvatnet lake and the Vengetindene peaks.
