PEO STRI at a Glance Joint Project Management Office Medical Modeling and Simulation (JPMO MMS): The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs created the JPMO MMS in partnership with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and PEO STRI to fulfill the Services' shared medical training requirements across the Continuum of Care. PEO STRI Pilot Mentor-Protégé Program PEO STRI Pilot Mentor-Protégé Program (STRI MPP) seeks to expand PEO STRI federal procurement opportunities while encouraging major DoD prime contractors (mentors) to assist in the development of technical and business capabilities of small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs) and other eligible protégés. 16

Benefits of MPP Allows mentors to furnish technical and business assistance to Protégés. Demonstrated benefits to the Soldier through technology transfer Protégés gain enhanced capabilities to perform as prime contractor, subcontractor and supplier while fostering long-term business relationship within PEO STRI Mentors receive either: Direct Cost Reimbursement Credit towards applicable subcontracting goals for cost or A combination of both (hybrid) 17

Mentor: A qualifying Mentor must be eligible for Federal contract awards and one of the following: An entity other than a small business, unless a waiver to the small business exception has been obtained from the DoD Associate Director, Mentor-Protégé Program, that is a prime contractor to DoD with an active subcontracting plan; A graduated 8(a) firm that provides documentation of its ability to serve as a mentor. Protégé: A qualifying Protégé must be eligible for Federal contract awards and one of the following: A Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) certified by SBA A qualified organization employing the severely disabled A Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) A Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business A qualified HUBZone Small Business Concern 18 Participants Eligibility
