2. The Othello was written around 1603. It is William Shakespeare’s drama. It was written for the stage. There are 13 main characters in the drama.

3. The basic storry is the following: Rodrigo in love with Desdemona, but Desdemona loves Othello. Jago revenge against Othello because he hasn’t got the rank, which Othello promised him. In the middle of the story Desdemona marriaged with Othello. The relationship between Jago and Othello makes the story to a tragedy.

4. The first presentation was on the 1st November 1604. After that on the 30th April 1610. In Hungary the premiere was in 1794.
