4 People are advised to eat… 1. More fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low fat milk products. 2. More fish, beans, peas, nuts, and seeds. 3. Minimize the intake of saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, salt, and added sugar.

5 MyPyramid Is a tool that shows you what kinds of foods to eat and how much of each food you should eat everyday. Width of each stripe Represents the relative proportion of your daily diet

7 USDA Recommendations When it comes to health, one size doesn’t fit all!! The USDA named this food guidance system the MyPyramid in order to emphasize that each person’s nutrition needs are different.

8 Summary More activity = More nutrition Less activity = Less nutrition You must get nutrients from each group You must have physical activity every day 60 minutes
