Some Class Procedures To get MY attention:  Raise your hand and wait for me to call on you When I need THE CLASS’ attention:  I will say “Hi Five, Please!”  Please be quiet and raise your hand when you see me raise my hand.  When everyone is quiet and has their hand raised, I will proceed. Missed Work:  When you are absent, check my website for your missing work or ask me for a copy of it ASAP!

Some Class Procedures Sharpening a pencil  Please sharpen all pencils prior to the bell.  If you need a sharp pencil after the bell, please take your dull pencil and exchange it for a freshly sharpened one at the back of the room and return to your seat. Turning in papers  Please collect all the papers from your group and hand them to me in a stack. Exiting the room  The two groups nearest to the door will exit the room, followed by the next two groups and the final two groups. Please be quiet in the hallway and proceed to the designated location quietly.

Some Class Procedures Beginning Class  Go to your seat, get out your homework and start on the assignment on the board…quietly Ending Class  Stay sitting in your seat until I dismiss you.  I dismiss you…not the bell Getting/returning Supplies  I will randomly select individuals to get/return supplies from their locations throughout the room based on the numbers on the team mats on your desks.  Let’s practice…

More Class Procedures Inventory of Valuable Items  You have a number assigned to you on calculator cards.  This number will be your computer number as well as your clicker number.  If any of these items are missing after class, I will call the person responsible for that number back to my class to help find the item.  DO NOT use items that do not have your number on them, unless I specifically give you permission.  Return all items to their respective locations prior to leaving class.

Still More Class Procedures The “Rug” area…  Using this area is a privilege.  Do NOT sit in this area without my “express” permission.  Do not abuse the pillows, throw them, or destroy them.  Do not destroy, write on or otherwise deface the contents in the rug area.  If these rules are not followed, I will take the items back home and you will not get to use them again.

Still More Class Procedures The Countertop Area  The chairs in this area are not desks.  You may not sit in this area without my express permission.  We will use this area for computer use, studying apart from the group, etc, but not on an everyday basis. Sink  If you need to wash your hands, you may do so BEFORE or AFTER class.  Do not interrupt class to wash your hands. It is RUDE!

Even More Class Procedures Bathroom Usage  You must sign in and out of the classroom each time you get permission to go to the restroom. NO EXCEPTIONS!  Bathroom usage may not occur on a daily basis without a documented medical reason from the school nurse.  You may not ask to use the restroom until after the lesson is complete…use it BEFORE you get to my class.

Even More Class Procedures Food/Drinks  The only drink allowed in my room is water. It must be in a container with a screw-top lid.  You may not consume water if you are using electronics/computers  You may bring snacks to consume during class, but they must be dry in nature or not something that creates a mess. (ie…no puddings, things that are smearable, etc…) Granola bars, crackers, etc…good, healthy snacks.

The Last Slide of Class Procedures Seminar  If you need extra help during seminar, please get my signature at the END of class, just prior to the bell.  I will generally remind you, but I may forget, so just ask me.  No stamp prior to seminar…no coming to my classroom for help.  If you come to my seminar, be quiet and study diligently or you will lose the privilege of coming to my class during seminar.
