1. Veterans Day Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated.[1] It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. 3. Why I celebrate Veterans Day. Veterans Day to me is a sad holiday because I had a great, great grandpa in World War 2.

4. How we celebrate Veterans Day. How do we celebrate Veterans' Day? I guess many people will celebrate it just like they celebrate any other holiday. They will go to the mall and go shopping! I would like to suggest some other ways we might celebrate this important holiday. - Fly a flag in your yard to remind others that this is a day to honor those who have served. - Spend some time in prayer. Give thanks to God for those who served to defend the cause of freedom. - Observe two minutes of silence. Concentrate on remembering those who have died defending the cause of freedom. - Wear a Poppy. A Poppy is a red flower which is worn to show others that you are remembering those who died for their country. The poppy was chosen because it reminds us of a place called Flanders Fields where many soldiers from the first World War are buried. The poppies grow there between the crosses that mark their graves.
