The Big Interview Angela Stewart
2
Introduction In the past, when I lived in Royse City, Texas, I was a substitute teacher for a Charter school. It was a small school which had many students with lower income families. It was a small town in which everyone knew everyone. As long as my children were attending school at the school, I would substitute there. I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3 rd grade, 5 th grade, and 6 th grade levels. It was an exciting experience because I was able to see many different students as different ages with different curriculums. The 4 th grade position available today is a perfect fit for me at this point in my life. It will give me a chance to make a difference in the lives of the students. In addition, it will give me a chance to be able to help those students with a need for intervention. Teaching students is the one of the most influential positions a person can have.

Philosophy of Education Having the right curriculum for the students is crucial to the learning environment. Technology with always be around for students to learn. The children of our future will need to incorporate more technology in the learning process; at home and in the classroom.

Classroom Management Plan Part of my management plan is to make sure the students understand the rules at the very start of the year. They will know what to expect and what I expect from them. Another part of the my management plan is the organizational layout of the classroom. I will position the students at tables to insure they have plenty of room to work with worksheets and technology. Having the students comfortable is very important to their attention level.

Assessments Matter Assessments should be an important part of the teacher’s everyday plan. In my plans for teaching the 4 th grade, assessments will be given on a regular basis. I will use formative and summative assessments to insure the students are understanding everything they need to become successful in society. Rystad, M. (2013, April 7). Leadership I will be a great influence and set a great example for other educators by being a positive leader. I plan to grow with the school and help where needed in the future. My overall goal is to become a school’s Administrator. I look forward to making a difference each and every day. Newman (2013) states, “Teacher leadership is an important component of the ever-changing dynamic of schools, and teachers can now influence policy and the professional growth of other educators.” Newman, R.
