Harvard University - one of the most famous universities in the U.S. and around the world, is located in Cambridge. Harvard - the oldest university in the U.S., was founded September 8, 1636. Named after the English missionary and benefactor John Harvard.

Interesting facts Among the students, there is a belief that if you rub the toe shoes sitting statue of John Harvard, you can easily pass the exams. That's why sock protruding shoes polished to a shine.

Another belief is that students should not pass through the main gate of the University is more than twice: once at the beginning of training, the second time after graduation. As a result, the gate is usually closed for the entire semester.

In honor of Harvard University named asteroid (736) Harvard, opened in 1912.
