WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY? An emergency is any unexpected situation that involves prompt action or an incident that threatens the health and safety of a population of people.

WHY CREATE RESPONSE TEAMS? University Police likely to be involved, but various situations require cooperation and collaboration with other units. There is much more do to in addition to a law enforcement, fire or medical response.

WHY CREATE RESPONSE TEAMS? Care for victims and their friends and family. Communication-within and public Note: Teams don’t do medical, rescue, law enforcement functions.

Monday, October 7, 12:30AM CNN reports that there are at least 3 fatalities and many injured. Those injured are taken to area hospitals.
