5 Time order UNIT A paragraph of time order The pattern of time order is often found in paragraphs that discuss events that happen one after another. In this way the author presents a series of events step by step. Paragraphs written in this pattern are well-organized and are easy for readers. To express the time order, many signal words can be used:
