4  No-Homework policy- however, students who do not finish class work/in-class projects in the allotted time given will need to complete it at home.  Students who require extra practice in a specific skill will have assignments sent home to complete for extra practice/reinforcement.

5  We start giving grades in the 1 st quarter!  We are using standard base grading this year.

6 Focus on good manners and kindness!  Positive Reinforcement  Behavior clip chart- needs to be reviewed and initialed daily in the communication folder.  Incentives- treasure chest, stickers, etc.  Keep all personal toys, electronics, and games at home  Appropriate classroom behavior is expected at all times.

9  Daily Folder– please return DAILY  It will include items that should be viewed and either signed/returned, or left at home.  It will also have the behavior log which will require a nightly review & signature.

10  Each family is responsible for 20 hours.  You are responsible for documenting your hours on a log form.  Hours may be earned in various ways: PTA meetings, advisory meetings, family nights, etc.  Volunteer hours at school or in the classroom must be pre-arranged. Do not wait until the end of the year to complete your twenty hours.

11 Child should bring one healthy, low-sugar snack and drink to be consumed in the afternoon. Snack should be packed in paper or ziplock bag labeled with child’s name (separate from lunch boxes). Aftercare snack should be labeled, in a separate bag. Daily Snack

12 We are a uniform school! If children cannot tie their own shoes, we recommend velcro shoes.  Shirts, bottoms and outerwear must all have official school logo on it  Please be sure to label sweaters/jackets  PE shorts and shirts (with the school logo) along with socks and shoes must be worn on your child’s PE day Dress Code

13  All visitors must go to the elementary office and provide their driver’s license to receive a visitor’s badge.  Prior arrangements must be made with your child’s teacher before volunteering in the classroom! Safety & Security

16 Day 1: Thursday, August 18, 2016 Drop-off Drop-off : The campus will open 7:00 AM and school will begin at 7:30 AM. For this day only, parents are encouraged to park their vehicles and walk into the school with their children. All families are invited to our “Boo-Hoo ! Yahoo!” Breakfast which will take place in the cafeteria from 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM. Pick-up Pick-up : On the KickStart days school ends at 11:15 AM. You may start arriving as early as 11:05 AM. Parents, please do NOT park; instead you should follow the typical FranklinPass pick-up procedures.

18 Day 2: Friday, August 19, 2016 Drop-off Drop-off : The campus will open 7:00 AM and school will begin at 7:30 AM. Parents should follow the normal Franklin Academy drop-off procedures and NOT park their vehicle. Pick-up Pick-up : On the KickStart days school ends at 11:15 AM. You may start arriving as early as 11:05 AM. Parents should NOT park and instead should follow the typical FranklinPass pick-up procedures.
