Ephesians 1:13-14

If you have not learned and accepted what God says about you, it’s safe to say you have an identity crisis. What we think always determines how we live

I am chosen God wanted a family God wanted us to be free God wanted us to praise him

I am sealed! And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14

How are we sealed? What does it mean to be sealed? Why are we sealed?

How? And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed… Ephesians 1:13a We were sealed when we heard and believed the good news

Good news God, who made the world has rescued the world from corruption and decay through His Son, Jesus; who started a brand new world of forgiveness, blessing, grace and love through his death and resurrection. We enter by faith in Christ.

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit… Ephesians 1:13b We are Secure What?

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

What? We belong to God Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 We are God’s responsibility

Why? …who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:14 To bring us home …being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

Question Have you received the Spirit since you believed?

Five ways you can know Have you publically confessed that Jesus is your Lord? Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3

Does practicing sin bring sorrow and change? And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30 Is being led by the Spirit important to you? For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. Romans 8:14

Is it your desire to know and apply God’s word? Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. 1 Peter 2:1-2

Are you committed to the betterment of people? If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 1 John 3:17

Those who are sealed must : Practice the presence of God
