3 A.K.A. King Tut and “The Boy King”. He was a pharaoh and the 12th king of the 18th dynasty in Egypt during a period of time called the New Kingdom. He was born and died in Ancient Egypt. His father was Akhenaten Tut’s mom was Kiya, A.K.A “The Younger Lady”. His step mom was Nefertiti. Tut’s tomb “code” is KV62 which means the 62nd tomb found in the Valley Of The Kings. He is buried right in the middle (of the Valley Of The Kings). Tut had four siblings, Ankhesenamun, Meritaten, Ankhesenpaaten Tasherit, and Smenkhkare. He married Ankhesenamun, his step-sister. Ankhesenamun also married Akhenaten and Ay, Tut’s grandfather. He was born in 1341 B.C. and died in 1323 B.C., so he had a very short life. King Tut wasnine years old when he became pharaoh and got married. Ankhesenamun’s tomb was found KV55. Tut was buried with ninety-three pairs of shoes and all of his walking sticks.(He had them since he was three because of all of his disabilities.) He ruled from 1332-1323 B.C..

4 There are many theories on how King Tut died. I am going to list 4 for you. 1. He had a deadly illness because his father who was also his uncle and mom who was also his aunt had him. 2.Someone murdered him so they could have the thrown. 3.He was killed in a chariot accident (possibly on purpose). 4.He killed himself because he was in a lot of pain from his illnesses. Here are some of his illnesses. Scoliosis He had female hips Koehler's disease Malaria Clubbed foot Malaria Spine bifida

5 King Tut (as you probably know) died at a very young age. However, not many people know why. One theory was that some people had him killed in something like a chariot accident because many people didn’t like his father, Ankhenaten, who tried to make himself the only God of the Egyptians but then mysteriously disappeared, is believed to be killed, and is yet to be found. There were also four main suspects on his murder, Ankhesenamun, his wife, Ay, his grandfather, Moab, Tut's treasurer, and Horemheb, an Army General. The first suspect accused was Ankhesenamun because detectives thought that she was jealous of him and wanted him dead. They eliminated this suspicion because after Tut died, the detectives found letters to their enemies, the Hittites, showing how upset and scared she was that he was gone. She was begging them to send a husband for her so the Egyptians could have a pharaoh. Sadly, the man that they finally sent was killed by the Egyptians before he made it to her. The second suspect was Moab. The detectives eliminated him from the suspect list because they figured out (from records) that Moab loved Tut more than “anything in the world”. The third, Horemheb was a suspect because he had done so much and then, he may have wanted to become pharaoh. The detectives thought that he would never have done anything for Egypt, had he been a bad person. Now, it was down to one last person, Ay.

6 Because of King Tut’s illnesses he had a special “pillow” as shown on the left. When King Tut was being investigated they found a loose chip in his skull. The investigators found out that King Tut hit his head. They came up with the theory that Ay slammed King Tut’s head into his pillow. Ay was appointed King but no one new what happened to King Tut. The funny thing is that Ay was only Pharaoh for four years.
