Culture-a way of life Food-Italian, French, American Religion-three major religions in Europe Sports-Brazil (Soccer), Canada (Ice Hockey) Language-Russia (Slavic) Family-In Mexico three generations can live under one roof Holiday Traditions (Christmas, Hanukah) Traveling-tourist attractions (Ayers Rock-Australia) Education-Engineering training programs in Germany

Culture-Our Way of life Examples of culture: Reading Doing homework Playing softball or football Dance Gymnastics Backyard BBQ’s Tailgating-football games Babysitting Yard work Reading Cultural beliefs Family traditions Language we speak in our own home!

The wall you see is the Berlin Wall. It is not there for historical purposes only. Berlin, Germany was divided by the wall in 1961 after WWII. This was the site of a huge celebration after Germany won the World Cup a few summers in Brazil in 2014. The couple you see walking are Coach Woods parents, my uncle served in the U.S. Army during and after World War II.

Guess where the 2016 Summer Olympics are being held? Rio De Janerio, Brazil The largest Portuguese speaking country in the world. Cultural Influences-People that grow up in Brazil speak Portuguese!

Today’s Standards relating to culture 8/8/2016 SS6G4 The student will describe the cultural characteristics of people who live in Latin America and the Caribbean. S6G11 The student will describe the cultural characteristics of people who live in Europe. SS6G14 The student will describe the cultural characteristics of people who live in Australia.
