4. 4 Browser Standard Timeline  ERCOT currently supports Internet Explorer 6 and 7 browsers  Other browsers are mostly, if not fully, compatible though not supported by ERCOT IT staff (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc)  ERCOT is planning to have all market facing applications compatible with Microsoft browser IE8 (Internet Explorer v8) by April 1, 2012  The IE8 browser is compatible with the latest version of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7) and contains improved security features.  Prior to April 1 st, 2012 ERCOT will publish a list of recommended IE8 browser configuration settings ERCOT’s support for IE8 will allow Market Participants to upgrade their browsers anytime after the effective date –Any Market Participant that has a problem with IE8 after April 1, 2012, can report the issue to Client Services or to ERCOT’s Helpdesk –ERCOT will continue to support Microsoft IE7 until mid-2014. No action is required from Market Participants at this time.
