Here are the questions we asked: Which days does the club meet? The club meets on Wednesdays. V Question 1

What time does the club start and finish? It starts at 12 o’clock and usually finishes at 2 o’clock. A Question 2

How many people are there in the club? There are 15 students and one teacher. V Question 3

What material must the students bring? The students must bring their folders, their handouts, their pendrives and lots of ideas. A Question 4

How much does it cost to join the club? It costs 500 vatu per year. v Question 5

Are there any dangers in the club? No, not really. A Question 6

Can we organize visits or get visitors? Yes, of course. Visits can be organized. The pupils usually go to the Parliament and to the Pacific Institute of Public Policy. They also work with pupils from other schools from Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon Islands and PNG. V Question 7

What can we learn in this club? In this club, pupils discover new ideas. They have to do a lot of research. They have to defend their points of view: either they are « for » the motion, either they are « against » the motion. They have to talk in front of many people. A Question 8

How can the club help us for school ? When you debate, you learn a lot of ideas and skills. For example, you can become good at speaking in front of many people and you can become good at presenting and defending your ideas. You can also learn to work hard together in a team. Team- spirit is very important. V Question 9

What is difficult in this club? If you are shy, it can be hard to speak in front of everyone. And if you are slow, it can be a problem because you will not have enough time to say everything you want to say. A Question 10

What is great and fun about this club? The best part is probably when the students go for competitions against other schools because they meet new pupils and make new friends, but also they all have to give their very best for their team to win. V Question 11

OUR OPINION What do we think about the club? We went to the club on Wednesday. We really liked it because it was all in English and it was fun. We saw the preparation and Victor saw the debate. He liked it because it was fun and interesting. A
