4 Situation Review Question of Gender equity in salaries. Historical promotion and recruitment strategies have not been inherently biased. Potential lawsuit from disgruntled female employee. Senior Management in HR has requested analysis of personnel data.

7 Data Analysis But does this necessarily mean that there is inherent gender bias? No…and here is why…

8 Data Analysis …those in upper and middle management positions scored higher on their quantitative aptitude test… Source: DSC HR

9 Data Analysis …in addition, we determined that, given the ratios of promoted-not promoted employees by gender, there is no relationship between the two. Ratio = 3:1 Ratio = 2.14:1 Source: DSC HR

10 Conclusions Based upon the statistical findings, we conclude the following: 1.Gender is related to position; 2.But, position is related to quantitative aptitude; 3.There is no relationship between gender and promotional status.

11 Conclusions Therefore, we conclude that DSC Inc has a strong position to defend should a gender bias suit be filed.
