3. Hockey at Doncaster Hook Into Hockey (H2H) –This is an introductory programme sponsored by the Australian and Victorian hockey associations. This is designed for 5 to 12 year olds who have had little or no previous exposure to hockey. This is run on specific dates and is not a season based programme. Minkey Hockey –This is an intra-club programme for 5 to 9 year olds. This is designed as a longer introduction to hockey than H2H for those too young to play competition hockey or would prefer to play this as an introduction prior to playing competition against other clubs. –Minkey hockey will be run on nominated Monday afternoons. The calendar for Minkey Hockey is shown below. Junior Competition –This is inter-club competition. The age groups are: –Under 9 – half ground (Saturday morning) –Under 11 – full ground (Saturday morning) –Under 13 – full ground (Friday night) –Under 15 – full ground (Friday night) –Under 17 - full ground (Friday night)

4. Year Level Co-ordinators Year level co-ordinators are primarily involved in the administrative processes with the age group –Establishing numbers of players and contacts for players –Liaising with team managers on team numbers, equipment –Providing a point of contact to the committee from the age group should the need arise –Liaising with team managers on any concerns raised –Communicating program information

5. Team Managers, Head Coaches & Team Coaches Team Managers are involved with the administrative processes with the team Ensuring adequate communication of information to the team of team, club and association activities, ensuring adequate numbers of players are available Provide point of contact between parents and coach of the team Update Sporting Pulse, co-ordinate match day team requirements (umpire payment, match book completion, match balls, protective equipment) There is a handbook for team managers – it is generally quite routine Head Coaches Co-ordinate the coaching effort for the age group in conjunction with Junior Coaching co-ordinator Co-ordinate team selection and make up in conjunction with team coaches Team Coaches Provide training and match day coaching and development to players in accordance with club policies and coaching guidelines Skills are developed according to age group

6. Registration & Fee Payment Registration is an on-line process for the first time Registration and payment can be made on line using a variety of means including credit card, pay pal and EFT Details of this were included in the Season 2012 document forwarded previously. Any issues with this should be communicated to your year level co-ordinator Early bird fees expire 30 th March All must be registered in order to play

7. Parents Parents – what can you do. –Have the kids organised and ready to take part –Support team managers in terms of player unavailability; umpire payments and any other assistance that could be helpful –Positively support all efforts of the team, players, coaches and umpires –Assist with serving in the canteen

11. Upcoming Events 6 A – Side – Please include Sunday 1 st April on your calendar for a great social day at the club. Players of all standards and ages get to test their skill against other members, get to know other club members and kick off the 2012 season. Veterans get to learn tricks from the juniors, State League Men get to appreciate the skills the women possess and beginners get a chance to mix with family and friends in a low key game environment. Cost is $10 for the day which includes a BBQ (sausage & burgers) and entertainment for the kids. Refreshments will also be available through the canteen and bar. The program is –10am U11 – U13 6 A-Side (arrive 9.45am) –10.30am U9 & Minkey 4 A-Side –11.30am Whole Club Photo. We hope to get as many members as possible, in uniform there for a club photo on the field. –12.00pm U15, U17, Senior Men, Senior Women & Veterans 6 A-Side –4.30pm 6 A-Side Final
