2. Introduction Beach volleyball was invented in 1920 in California. Since 1920 it began to get more and more important until the point that it has became an olimpic sport. Now we are going to show you some of the most important beach volleyball events, we hope you'll enjoy it.

3. Event's history The first official championship of beach volleyball was held in Santa Monica in 1976, since this moment there have been a lot of tournaments, the most important are: The Swatch FIVB World Championships (it has been held each odd year since 1997), the Manhattan Beach Open (in the US) and the Olympics' tournament. Now my friend Emilio is going to show you some championships.

4. Important tournaments of beach volley ● Well, everybody knows that the most important tournament of all sports are the Olympic games, and beach volley is one of the sports on them. Beach volley made its first appearance on the Olympics in the Olympics of Paris, 1924, and the team that has won more golden medals is the Russian team, with 4 golden medals and 2 silver medals. Of course, the Olympics are celebrated each 4 years. ● Manhattan Beach is probably most famous for its beach volleyball and the grand daddy of beach volleyball tournaments, the Manhattan Beach Open. Since 1960 this tournament, which started as an amateur event and is now part of the professional volleyball player's tour, has been a popular Summertime activity. The Manhattan Beach Open is the only professional volleyball tournament in which amateurs are able to "place into" the event through pre-qualifying rounds. Is celebrated each year. ● And the last one is the EVP Tour. Famous between the amateurs, it's a tournament between amateurs in Beach volley from the cities of all the world. It's celebrated each year.
