Existing Apprenticeships Currently 27 Craft Apprentices across the sectors of Construction, Electrical, Printing, Motor and Engineering Included in these are, for example, Motor Mechanics, Agricultural Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Carpentry, Plumbing, Toolmaking, Metal Fabrication Two new Craft Apprenticeships launched in 2015: (i) Pipe-Fitting and (ii) Stonecutting and Stonemasonry

World Class Apprenticeships Skills developed by Irish apprentices are well regarded abroad; many Irish Apprentices have won medals at World Skills Competitions: the Skills Olympics In Brazil in 2015, Ireland came 11 th in the world ranking & won a gold medal for Aircraft Maintenance; 4 th consecutive medal in Aircraft Maintenance, Ireland are the only country in the world to have achieved this

4. New Developments Following a review by the previous Minister, the Apprenticeship Council is working with education providers and industry to develop Apprenticeships in entirely new areas Providing new opportunities and alternative routes

5. New Apprenticeships  25 New Apprenticeships Currently being developed  Focus on meeting industry needs  Learning On-the-Job

6. 25 New Apprenticeships Planned Including: Accounting, Insurance, International Financial Services, HGV, Industrial Electrical Engineer, Culinary and Baking

7. New Apprenticeships will be on the National Framework of Qualifications Different Levels on the NFQ, Levels 5- Level 8
