8.  Guidelines to improve predictability on confusingly similarity evaluation  Relevant for Fast Track and overall policy  Issues relating to evaluation of in particular Cyrillic, Greek and Latin strings.  Study Group on geo-names as TLD’s  Purpose: understand how country names can be used as TLD under ccNSO and GNSO policies.  Paul Szyndler (.AU) appointed chair  Next step: develop typology of names of countries ( for example: official names in official language, historical name for country/territory)

9.  Framework of Interpretation Working Group  Work Plan developed  Terminology Discussion to align interpretation of WG members  Currently discussion on “Consent”  Note: ccPDP on Retirement of ccTLD’s will be initiated after FoIWG has completed its activities

10.  ccNSO input on Further Notice of Inquiry  FNOI; request NTIA ( USG) on possible changes to the IANA Function Contract  Follow-up on Notice of Inquiry earlier this year  ccNSO submission on Further Notice of Inquiry  Strategic and Operational Planning WG  Input on ICANN Ops Plan and Budget: resulted in re-allocation of US$2 million.  ICANN Strategic Planning started. ccNSO SOPWG will provide input.

11.  ccNSO Finance WG  Purpose: understand expenses ICANN on its ccTLD related activities and propose to ccTLD community acceptable and reasonable model(s) for financial contributions to ICANN  Current status: Sub-groups to look into and evaluate different funding models. One sub-group to look into expenses of ICANN on ccTLD’s.  By Dakar initial overview of merits models and finances.
