RockSat-C 2013 SITR Payload Subsystem Integration and Testing Report University/Institution Team Members Date

RockSat-C 2013 SITR User Notes Please follow this template as closely as possible Leaving out items from the template will make it hard to assess your flight preparation status, and we need to be able to do this to be sure your payload is ready and safe to fly Include any additional information wherever you find it necessary! Let me know if you have any questions, or want to run any drafts by me.

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Mission Overview State your mission goals/technical requirements, noting any modifications since ISTR (having to change instrumentation, memory, motor, damper, etc may effect your goals in the accuracy or ability of the payload) 3

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Subsystem Overview You should be including, but are not limited to: Mechanical/Structure Electrical/ CDH Power (EPS) Software Science … 4

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Mechanical/Structure Has the structure been fit-tested? Did everything fit? Describe the tests conducted –Run time –Purpose –How you determine if it was successful Are you making any modifications? Why? Will you need ballast to reach the 20 +/- 0.2 requirement (this should be almost finalized at this point in testing) –You should have a close-to-final weight estimate here For paired teams: What is the plan for integrating with your partner? –What will you use to connect to their payload? At what height? –What is your combined weight? –Where is your combined CG? 5

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Electrical/CDH Are the electronics working? Is the memory working? Have you retrieved data from memory that makes sense? Describe the tests conducted –Run time –Purpose –How you determine if it was successful Have boards and sensors been combined and tested? Results? 6

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Power (EPS) Have you tested power? Describe the tests conducted –Run time –Purpose –How you determine if it was successful What is your activation design? Has it been tested? 7

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Software Is your software written? Have you tested it with the electrical systems? What were the results? Are the sampling rates correct? 8

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Interfaces Summary Did integration of subsystems go as planned? What are modifications that need to be made? What still needs to be tested? What are major issues? How will they be resolved? How will you ensure you stay on schedule? 9

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Pictures You don’t need to put all pictures here, this is just a note to please include as many payload pictures and graphs of testing results as possible! Explain what the results of integration and testing imply for your payload. 10

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Test Summary Did everything work as planned? Did all electronics communicate –Did the software work with subsystems –Did the sensors return reasonable data Will the sensors need calibration? What needs to change before flight? Action Items 11

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Canister Integration and Vibe Test What is the plan for integration? Do you have a general idea for procedure? –Don’t need a super detailed procedure yet, but start thinking about it for the Full Mission Sim, because you will need it then How will the vibe test at Wallops affect your payload? (start thinking about this now) –Will you be using the vibe test data? –Will you be bringing a spare set of components in case something breaks? –Will you be bringing a spare set of test specimens to replace the ones used for vibe? –Don’t need a super detailed procedure yet, but start thinking about it for the Launch Readiness Review, because it will be covered in detail for that report 12

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Summary of Progress State where you are in terms of schedule, where you should be, and how you plan on reaching the mission sim deadline This needs detail! You will always have to show how the schedule will be met, how you will catch up, and what the overall plan is to be successful 13

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Conclusions Issues and concerns? Closing remarks 14

RockSat-C 2013 SITR Appendix Extra/additional data plots Additional data not immediately relevant to presentation
