Lessons Learnt Use mixed methods to collect data Even some obvious things can be overlooked Community involvement in defining women’s empowerment results in a defendable approach Account for the possibility that respondents will tell you what they think you want to hear Acknowledge the risk that questions can be interpreted in different ways Definition of women’s empowerment is context-specific & likely to change over time
