Environmental Scan of Research & Curriculum – Look at degree programs – Explore research interests of faculty – Investigate research grants that have been awarded – Conduct curriculum scan for existing & New degree programs Bibliometrics —Gather data on faculty publications

Take faculty services to faculty (outside the library) – On site office hours – Faculty delivery service Collaborate to create course specific content in course management systems – Links to library resources – Embed librarians in online courses – Customized tutorials

Perception vs. Fact Faculty don’t need to come to the library anymore because everything is online Important to find out what the faculty need Conduct surveys Set up focus groups Talk to individual faculty members Attend faculty meetings to discuss their needs

USF Library surveyed faculty in 2002 and conducted LIBQUAL surveys (2004 &2005) Faculty wanted quiet space in the library They wanted to be away from the undergraduate-focused Information Commons They also wished to have meeting rooms, comfortable seating Faculty Research Suite opened in Fall 2007
