Conclusion Project has achieved its purpose; – We reached young women (Facebook, competition for the on line video, Twitter). – We had an attractive and notable campaign which contributed to the promotion of gender equality. – We reached the media and to certain extend encouraged the public debate on gender equality in politics. – The zipper system was used more often than in the last elections. – Unfortunately still only two women were classified on the 1st place in the list but otherwise women were classified on the 2nd place which is an improvement from the elections in 2009.
23
Conclusion – The proportion of Slovenian female members to the European Parliament is 37,5%. – Project campaign contributed to the promotion of the preferential vote which helped to elect a female candidate.
24
…and – we learned so much new about women in politics, – we got familiar with political parties, – we were networking on so many levels and most important – we had fun and – made some new friendship.
