Biotelemetric system aimed at monitoring of patient ‘s vital functions. It consist of two parts- inner part and outer part. TCP and UDP protocols are used for the communication between these parts Communication in inner part is implemented using zigbee technology

It consist of two parts a. Inner part It is located at patient’s home. It is used for the acquasition of biotelemetric data b. Outer part It is located at monitoring centre Single instance of outer part can control multiple instance of inner part

There are three hardware element CERBERUS-Mobile data acquiring unit ORTHRUS -Stationary data forwarding unit SENSORs -Stationary data acquiring unit

It having four elements CENTREs - endpoints aggregating measured data. DHCP server- provides IP settings. NTP server - provides accurate time. SNMP NMS protocol - management of whole system.

ORTHRUS and CERBERUS are key elements The components used by them are ARM7TDMI microcontroller FRAM memory for caching and temporary storage of data FPGA for passing raw biometric data ZigBee controller for controlling the dataflow Three wire SPI bus for communication between microcontroller and peripherals

It can be divisioned into four categories i. Data flow from CERBERUS element ii. Data flows from SENSORs element iii. Management data flow iv. Provisioning data flow

It includes mainly three biometric datas Three channel ECG data with a data rate of 2400 Bps Body and ambient temperature with data rate of 1/60Bps Patient’s posture-measured by using two accelerometers and send at a rate of 2500 Bps Each of this data having it’s own ZigBee cluster ID

This is to measure the following datas Heart rate Blood pressure Oxygen saturation Body weight Patient’s location in monitored space

All the biometric datas are send to CERBERUS element which is equipped with LCD display and keyboard.

It is used for the centralized administration of inner part of the system It also indicate the error notification,specification of error,status of battery charge… Inner part implementing the management by ZigBee logical links Outer part uses SNMP technology for management

It provide initial settings for starting of ORTHRUS element It exist only in outer part of biotelemetric system It use DHCP and NTP technology to set TCP/IP protocol related settings

Now the model biotelemetric system is used for indoor application only It using one to one mapping between the patient and zigbee network The patient can be able to view the biometric data using LCD display.

Outdoor operation can be implemented using 3G mobile technology With the advancement of low power,high density FPGA solutions the system become more reliable
