The American Cancer Society Regional Summit… Is a day dedicated to motivate, educate, and charge the batteries of new and returning RFL committee members, volunteers and participants. Was held at the Hilton/Double Tree Hotel in Seatac. Hotel rooms for participants (like myself) and parking was paid for courtesy of ACS. Over 600 Relay committee/volunteer members participated this year. Over 100 Relay For Life Council members set up the event and cleaned up. Included approximately 12 educational workshops revolving around a specific committee “chair” position or a general workshop.

Social Change… More people Relay every year since it was founded in 1985 (in Tacoma, WA!!) Each person who participates is an advocate for finding a cure for cancer and educating others about cancer (whether they think so or not). American Cancer Society is the 2 nd leading cancer funding research organization in the country. The first is the national government. They have raised $3.1 billion for research to date and have been involved in supporting important cancer research breakthroughs. Because of our hard working Relay For Life participants, committee members, and volunteers, we are closer to finding a cure with every step we take! Social change…will YOU be part of history when we finally find a cure? Walk with us, so your children will not have to.
