NCGE role in AEGI Co-ordination of development Co-ordination of monitoring and reporting of AEGI activities Staff development & support & in- service training programme Co-ordination of Service visits and evaluations Convene and chair National Advisory group Provision of technical support AEGI National Co-ordinator Advise NCGE Director on AEGI Collaborate with and report to DES Identify & make provision for AEGI staff training needs Provide advice & support on operational and strategic issues & good practice to AEGI staff Co-ordinate monitoring / reporting Inform DES policy and strategy development Advise DES & NCGE on development of adult educational guidance in Ireland Set up & chair sub committees to advise and implement strategies Member of other advisory groups - ITABE Guidance Officer works with National Co- ordinator on range of projects within the above

NCGE working with AEGI services Handbook Sub committees / working groups – e.g. ITABE / Client Feedback pilot Training programme for all staff Guidance Co-ordinators / Guidance Counsellors / Information Officers together & separately where appropriate. Regionally where possible. Support & advice on AEGI issues / developments Most Email / communication with services via Guidance Co-ordinator for distribution to other staff (copied to AEO where appropriate). Directed to other staff (where approp), copied to Guidance Co- ordinator Visit services Liaising with AEGA for input / representation Presenting & making recommendations at national level on AEGI activities / developments Flexible and open to suggestions / ideas from AEGI (within NCGE remit)
