4 Who should view this presentation? DVR School Team Members Two Certificated Staff Members Selected by School Admin. Staff involved with maintaining special education compliance.

6 When will the DVR take place?  DVR dates are scheduled October - November 2016.  Your school will be notified by early Aug.  One or Two Day Review

7 Who are the DVR Team members?  District Staff Who Are Not From Your School  LAUSD Parent Team Member – Volunteer selected by school  2 Certificated Staff Members From Your School Selected by site administrator

8 What will the DVR Team do?  Staff & Parent Survey Reviews  Parent Group Interview/Meeting  Document Review  Administrator/Staff Interview  Classroom Observations  Student Record Review Activities  Summary Conference

9 DVR Schedule of Activities  8:00 DVR Start Time  8:30 Administrator/Staff Interview  8:30-9:30 Parent Meeting  9:30-12:00 Classroom Observations  Document Review/Record Review On-Going  Summary Conference Upon Completion of Review Activities

10 What are the primary responsibilities of the DVR school team members?  Participate for Entire School Day  Conduct Student Record Review  Receive Student Record Review Training  Participate in Summary Conference

12 Summary Conference  Provide Summary Report  Discuss DVR Findings  Review Corrective Action Plan and/or Recommendations, if Applicable  Provide Directions for Follow-up Activities  Principal/Director Attendance Is Required

21 Student Record Review  Which IEPs will be reviewed?  10% of LAUSD Students’ IEPs at your school  List of IEPs to be reviewed will be provided to your school one week before your scheduled DVR.  Must be IEPs completed by at your school

22 Student Records  Please prepare the entire cumulative record  Do Not Photocopy Student Records  Green Folders or Confidential Special Education Folders  Parent Request for Reasonable Accommodations  Current IEP  Request for Special Education Assessment, if applicable  Special Education Assessment Plan  Notification to Participate in an IEP Meeting
