Enhancing the Training Offering Purpose: Recruit More Members

Drivers Need to reverse fall in membership. Excellent training has been a key recruiting feature in recent years. Current volunteer system is at maximum capacity. Member feedback for Strategic Plan supported use of Club Facilities midweek by Non Members 23% fall since 2005.

Proposal Mid week training by Senior Instructor (Daily basis) – May to Sept. (exclude Sail Camp and Family week) – Day and Evening Sessions. – Supporting existing club training programmes – Sessions for club members. (help new members) Primary Target Trainee groups – Schools – Colleges (eg Newton Rigg) – Scouts, Guides – Leisure Trusts RYA On Board Officer willing to support marketing effort – Visits to target groups with enthusiastic trainer Secondary Target Groups – Caravan Sites – Camping Sites – Hotels & Self Catering. Contribute to club finances (Not be a drain) Community Approach opens up access to grant funding for training and other projects. (RYA and Sports England)

Proposal Employ Senior Instructor on Daily Basis. – Flexible model reduces financial risk to UYC. – Able to change without Club liability. Purchase – 6 second hand Toppers – 18 life jackets Marketing Support, – New Training Jaffa already in SBP finance model for 2013. – 2 Bahias already available for more advanced training. Seek sponsorship contributions towards capital items Pupil ratio 1;6

Impact on Members Limited scale Mid week – Excluding Sail Camp & Ullswater week Child Protection Implications – Involved personnel CRB checked – Exclusive use of changing rooms for beginning and end of session. Needs change to Articles of Association
