2. What price did Jesus pay to ransom you to be his own? a. Matthew 20:28* He came to give his life for me b. 1 John 1:7* He died so that the blood of God washes away my sin c. 1 Peter 1:18, 19* His blood is holy and more precious than anything else Jesus died for me, so that his holy, precious blood pays God the ransom price that sets me free.

Redeem: To pay the ransom price that buys back and sets free Redeemer: A name for Jesus to show that he ransomed me to be his very own

3. For whom did Jesus pay the ransom price? a. 1 Timothy 2:6* He paid the ransom for all people b. 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20* This includes even me Jesus paid the ransom price to redeem all people, both good and bad, including me.

Redemption: Jesus' work of ransoming all people with his holy, precious blood

4. Why did my Lord redeem me? a. Ephesians 2:1-5 He did it because of his grace (his love that I don't deserve) b. Romans 8:1* He did it to free me from the power of sin, death, and the devil c. Titus 2:14* He did it so that he is my Lord and I am his very own. d. 2 Corinthians 5:15* He did it so that I live for him, my Lord who loves me.

Key Question: Why can I call Jesus, “My Lord”? Jesus is my Lord because he alone paid the ransom price of his holy, precious blood to redeem me, so that I belong to him.
